Other applications

Cosmetic & toiletries

Removal of emulsions, surfactants, COD, BOD, to meet discharge limits.

Laundry

Pollutants removal from commercial laundries waste streams and water recycle.

Detergent

Recovery of surfactants and clear water recycle.

Textile & dyehouse effluent treatment

There are great potential benefits in the treatment of bulk dyehouse effluents and other textile waste waters using membrane separation processes.

Typical applications

- Bulk effluent treatment and decolourisation
- Individual dye bath liquor
- Scouring/degumming liquor (wool, yarn, cotton, silk)
- Water recovery for reuse
- Mothproofer/pesticide removal

Advantages

- Water recovery
- Colour removal
- Removal of dissolved and suspended materials including COD, BOD, pesticides, dyestuff/colourant, salt
- Low space requirement
- Energy efficiency

Metal finishing metalworking

Recovery of metals salts from rinse streams - Alkaline cleaner recycle - Machining coolants (inc. Synthetic oils) - Rolling, drawing & casting waste water - Air compressor blow-down condensate - Limonene (terpene) cleaning fluids - Oily emulsions - Paint and ink wash down fluids.

Tanneries

Proteic material and sulphide recovery.

Pulp & paper

Water recovery and waste minimization.

Reclamation of caustic and acid from cip solutions

Cleaning in Place of production equipment in dairy industries (piping, tanks, evaporators etc.) is normally performed with NaOH and HNO3 solutions to maintain high hygienic standards and to ensure proper functioning of the equipment
The spent caustic and/or acid solutions, contaminated by suspended and dissolved organic substances, after neutralization are sent to treatment plants.
By analyzing the efficiency of the cleaning cycles, it is clear that the cleaning solutions are enriched in organic load and impurities, as high to suggest the replacement.
The suggested membranes are able to remove all the organic substances
and because of this high selectivity the permeate (the filtrated solution) produced is very clean, containing only a very small percentage of dissolved organics: the caustic cleaning solution is regenerated in continuous.
