Organic Solvent
nanofiltration
HAR is able to design and manufacture complete systems for purification and/or concentration processes in presence of organic
solvents, by means of different membranes, organic or inorganic, suitable for the purpose.
HAR , through an agreement with MET, an English company with extensive know-how in separation technology, can now offer access to STARMEM™, manufactured by Davison Membranes, a range of new Organic Solvent Nanofiltration (OSN) membranes suitable for use in non-aqueous applications.
Typical applications for these membranes in the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries are solvent exchange, catalyst
recycle, organics recovery and products purifications, and MET and HAR aim to work together with customers to optimise or
develop their processes using the membranes.
Environmental Technologies
MET has also developed a process for recovery of valuable but toxic organic chemicals from wastewater streams. The Membrane
Aromatic Recovery System (MARS) can be applied to any aromatic organic molecule that exhibits an acidic or basic functionality,
such as phenol and p-cresol.
